About
The person behind the projects
About me
I'm Noholoa*, an artist and maker working at the intersection of science and art. This web site is a home for my side projects: sci-art that merges scientific thinking with visual expression, original music and poetry, constructed languages, and other things I build along the way.
My interests span the visual, the sonic, the linguistic, and the scientific. I really believe in exploring ideas deeply and expressing them through whatever medium attracts my attention.
Previous work includes art on the Moon, an archive of private, celestially themed artwork I curated from around the world that was carried to the lunar surface in 2024 aboard Intuitive Machines' Odysseus lander, and MWL, a pictographic language for adventure fiction relying on shared astronomical phenomena.
Each pursuit tends to feed the others, often creating unexpected connections.
* Noholoa is the online name of Alex Noholoa Windell.
Building
Alongside the art, I write things like a controlled-English experiment, a Markdown trimmer, and science learning aids.
Interests
Sci-Art
Expressions of my thoughts where science and art meet on equal terms, neither illustrating the other, but fusing into something new.
Music & Poetry
Ongoing creative work in sound and signs, language, compositions, and written pieces that explore rhythm, imagination, relaxation, and expression.
